Hola!
This week has been crazy. Just a
heads up, even the keyboard is weird so I am going to be saying it is and do
not instead of using an apostrophe. And my PDay is today, Tuesday. Every
Tuesday I will reply.
So first off, food. the food is
extremely weird. It is usually okay, but sometimes it is gross. We found a
maggot on one of the plates. It was taken care of though so that should not be
a problem. Second is the water. The water tastes weird and we were all given
filtered water bottles so that we can drink it. So far so good.I was put in a district with nine other missionaries, all of which are going to Honduras, even my companion. My companion is Elder Mathieson and it is going My district is amazing. There are only two sisters and they are fairly cool. We started bonding as we started working together and sharing our testimonies. We are super close now.
Now, Mom, do not freak out. But we can hear gun shots over the walls. Bienmerito is a total of 90 acres fenced off by a huge wall. It is like we are in prison. But we can hear gun shots and fireworks. I just wanted to let you guys know because I think it is cool. But they love their fireworks with a passion. There are fireworks going off about every 5 minutes or so. It makes for an interesting time here.
Now, on to spanish. I have learned so much. To be honest it is extremely weird writing in english and have the time I have to go back and retype a word in english. So forgive me if my typing is off. I love spanish! It is very difficult but I can already have a conversation with somebody so I have learned a lot.
Speaking of having a conversation with somebody, we have been teaching an investigator since last Thursday. Obviously it is fake, but we treat it like the real thing. His name is Gabriel. We have taught him about the Book of Mormon, feeling the spirit, prayer, the word of wisdom, the Atonement, etc. He likes to party and drink a lot, but we have got him to start praying and to read a little bit in the Book of Mormon. He seemed excited when we asked if he wanted to be baptised, but he said he would have to talk with his wife. So hopefully tomorrow he will accept!
The weather down here has been good. It is mostly sunny and hot, but it rains a lot too. We had a pretty bad storm last week on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Other than that it has been very good.
In our dorm there are 6 Elders. Me and my companion, two Elders who have been here a week longer than us, and som Latinos. We have become great friends witht the Latinos. Their names are Elder Cadena and Elder Hernandez. they love us. They are so entertaining. In our dorm we are not allowed to speak english and they cannot speak spanish. They leave on Monday though so that will be a sad day. We stay up kinda late talking to them in spanish sometimes. We have learned so much though.
Our classroom teachers are Brother Rockwood and Brother Ramirez. Brother Rockwood is an american and he is my favorite teacher out of the two. He understands us and he is a very good teacher. Brother Ramirez is a very good teacher too. We have learned a lot from them and we tease them all the time when we see them outside of class.

Now today we went to the temple for PDay. It was so cool. The entire session was in spanish! It was very hard to remember everything and try and repeat it, but it was a very cool experience and I will never forget it.
My time is almost up so I will bear my testimony in spanish then translate it for you guys. It will be simple.
